On Wednesday 18th November, ScreenTalk Oxfordshire’s online event featured local activists using video to create change. Highlighting legal injustices, environmental issues, animal protection issues and challenging societal attitudes to AIDS, Andi Reiss of Yellow Media Group and Steering Group member at ScreenTalk Oxfordshire, Chaired the Zoom event.

Local Activists Campaigning for Change

We were delighted to welcome:

  • Ken Fero, a documentary filmmaker, political activist and co-founder of production company Migrant Media. Ken has produced a number of hard-hitting documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4 examining issues of racism and resistance.
  • Zoe Broughton has used her skills and passion as an important tool in the fight for social and environmental justice over the past 25 years.
  • Gem de Silva honed his skills at Film Oxford in the late eighties, after which he began investigating animal protection issues.
  • Joan Shenton, a multi-award winning broadcaster who has produced and presented programmes for network radio and television over a period of 50 years. She has been well known as a prominent exponent of views challenging HIV as the cause of AIDS.
